Wilton Norman “Wilt” Chamberlain
Born on August 21, 1936 7’1 Wilton Norman “Wilt” Chamberlain was
an American professional basketball player. Wilt was drafted in 1959 to the
Golden State Warriors, who moved to the Philadelphia 76ers, and finished
playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. He played for the University of Kansas and
also for the Harlem Globetrotters before playing in the NBA. During the time he
played he played as a center and was widely considered one of the greatest and
most dominant players in NBA history. He is the only player to score 100 points
in a single NBA game or average more that 40-50 points in a season. He won
seven scoring titles, nine field goal percentage, and eleven rebounding titles,
and led the league in assists once. .Chamberlain is the only player in NBA
history to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game in a season, a
feat he accomplished nine times.
