The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers were founded in 1947, they were a purchase of a disbanded team, the Detroit Gems. The Lakers originally played in Minneapolis, Minnesota, calling themselves the Minneapolis Lakers in honor of the state's nickname, "Land of 10,000 Lakes". After struggling financially in the late 1950s they relocated to Los Angeles before the 1960-61 season. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center an arena found in Los Angeles.The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in NBA history winning 16 NBA championships.

Kobe Bryant


               
        Born on August 25, 1978 at the height of 6’6 Kobe Bryant is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has played his entire career for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was drafted to the NBA right out of high school in 1996 because his high performance of basketball in his high school years. He is a huge achievement in NBA history. He is a five time NBA champion in which two he got finals MVP. In 2008 he won the MVP award. He is a seventeen time NBA all-star with four NBA all-star MVP. He also is a two time NBA scoring champion and is the Los Angeles Lakers all-time leading scorer. He won three gold medals for the United States and just recently passed Michael Jordan as third place of all-time scorer. His career is not over and yet to accomplish more.
